John F. Paterson

John Francis Paterson, 67 of Leawood, Kansas passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 surrounded by loved ones in Ottawa, KS.

John was born August 1, 1950 in Hyannis, Massachusetts, the son of Francis Paterson and Gertrude (Harper) Paterson. He grew up in California and graduated from Pacific Grove High School in Pacific Grove, CA with the class of 1969.
John served his country in the United States Navy. After his military service he worked in the tree trimming industry and grocery industry until he embarked on a career as a long-haul truck driver where he drove for Core Carriers for the last five years.

He was united in marriage to Judy English in 1978 in Carson City, Nevada. They later divorced. John was united in marriage to Linda LaDuke on December 22, 1990 in California. She survives of the home.
John attended Let There Be Light Fellowship Church in Osawatomie, KS. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and canoeing. 

Mr. Paterson was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ken Paterson.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Paterson; a daughter, Carey Paterson, Ottawa, KS; a son-in-law, Roger Fowler, Ottawa; three grandsons, Devon Paterson, Jaedon Bunce and Erik Fowler, all of Ottawa; a step-daughter, Renee Katzer and husband, Seth, Paola, KS; two step-grandchildren, Triston and Ashlyn Katzer, Paola; a sister-in-law, Silvia Cummings, Lane, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Let There Be Light Fellowship Church in Osawatomie, KS.
