TOPEKA — A Texas group is suing concerning the selection of Kansas as the new home for the National Bio- and Agro-Defense Facility. The Texas Bio- and Agro-Defense Consortium filed the suit against the Department of Homeland Security Wednesday morning. Kansas Gov. Kathleen sebelius said the selection of Kansas State University as the site of the new faciilty was fair and free of politics. She says the lawsuit will delay the move of the facility from Plum Island, N.Y., and pose a risk to national security and the food supply. Texas was one of the finalists for the site.
