OTTAWA — Flood warnings remain in effect along the Marais des Cygnes River in Franklin, Osage and Lyon counties at Ottawa, near Quenemo and above Reading. The flood warning for OPttawa will stay in effect until Wednesday evening. The National Weather Service predicted that the river will rise above flood stage at 31 feet Tuesday morning. The river is expected to crest slightly above 32 feet Tuesday evening. Lowland areas near the river are likely to flood. Flood warnings remain in effect along Pottawatomie Creek in Franklin and Anderson counties at Lane and at Scipio. The creek was expected to reach flood stage at 23 feet near Scipio today and crest at nearly 26 feet Tuesday night.
