OTTAWA — The county recycling center’s revenue from recycling has fallen 25 percent because of the economic meltdown, said Rick Sawin, county solid waste director. The center has had bales of cardboard that have been difficult to sell because the demand has dried up, he said. Recyclers are paying less for aluminum and other metals, he said.
