TOPEKA — Addison and Aiden were the most popular names given to babies born in Kansas last year. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, which keeps track of the names for its birth registry said parents went for gender-bender names or looked for names in their Bibles. After Addison, the most popular names for girls were Madison, Emily, Olivia and Emma. New names that cracked the top 25 list for girls include Madeline, Alana, Ella and Natalie. Aiden is the number-one name for Kansas boys for the fifth straight year. Other top names are Kaden, Ethan, Jackson and Brayden. Popular Biblical names in the boys’ top 25 included Caleb, Daniel, Gabriel, Isaac, Jacob, Joshua and Noah. Wyatt was the only new name to appear in the top 25 last year.
