OTTAWA — Two Ottawa High School sophomores will go to the national History Day competition in Washington in June. Lindsay Frank and Anna Stone won the state history contest with their project on Gavrilo Princip. Princip single-handedly ignited World War I by assassinating Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austria-Hungarian crown, in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Frank and Stone have been involved in history contests for six years. Frank and Stone are students of Candy Campbell and the daughters of Ken and Shelly Frank and Jon and Debra Stone. They will discuss their project this Sunday morning for KOFO’s Community Perspective shortly after 8.
