LAWRENCE — A Las Vegas woman was injured Sunday afternoon on U.S. 59 near Pleasant Grove. Kristin Makowiecki, 22, was driving her car south on U.S. 59 and
ran off the curve, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Her car hit a rock wall, rolled over and caught fire. Makowiecki, who was wearing a safety restraint, was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, troopers said.
