GARNETT — Anderson County USD 365 officials have outlined more than $275,000 in budget cuts for next year plus a local tax increase of $100,000 to offset cuts in state funding to schools. At their meeting last week, school board members reviewed
the budget. Superintendent Don Blome told the Anderson County Review that new state
cuts would reduce funding for the district by $303,000. The district is leaving positions vacant and teachers are being reassigned to new positions. The district is also cutting some other jobs and scaling back transportation for activities as well as reducing utility and internet costs, he said. Blome said the district’s main goal is saving jobs.
