OTTAWA – Franklin County commissioners remain skeptical of a state grant program that encourages some counties to buy and rehabilitate houses that have been foreclosed.
As county administrator Lisa Johnson described the program at Monday’s meeting, commissioners Ed Taylor and Sue Farrell said they were worried by one proviso that would leave the county holding the bag if the state doesn’t have enough money to fund the program. Commissioners will decide Wednesday evening if they want to join the program.
