OSAGE COUNTY — Two places in Osage County are among several Kansas sites used as World War II bombing ranges that are being checked by Army inspectors for unexploded bombs. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said some 100-pound practice bombs have been found on one range five miles west of Osage City. The practice bombs had some small explosives. A final report on the site will be completed next month and will suggest what to do with the site. An inspection of a site five miles northwest of Lyndon will be done later. Both sites were used by pilots training at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka.
