GARNETT — Anderson County USD 365 could start school 15 minutes earlier each morning beginning next school year. Superintendent Don Blome told the Anderson County Review the earlier time would mesh better with commuting parents’ schedules and make more classroom time for students involved in after-school sports and activities. The proposed change would have to be approved by the school board. Many kids are already at school before 8 a.m. and many students show up at the high school at 7 a.m. because their parents have to leave for work, he said. The time change would allow students involved in sports or other activities to be in class 15 minutes longer before they board buses for after-school activities, he said.
