OTTAWA — The Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run will begin in Franklin county at 1 p.m. Tuesday in downtown Wellsville. Shane Pruitt, Wellsville Police Department, will lead the run from 3rd Street and Main Street and officers will run the torch down Main to 10th Street and end at the Saddle Club Park for the closing ceremony at 1:15 p.m.The torch run will begin in Ottawa at 9 a.m. Wednesday and will be led by Ottawa Police Lt. Adam Weingartner. Officers will run through downtown Ottawa and head west on 17th Street and go to Eisenhower. They will go along Old 50 and go through Williamsburg at about noon. They’ll pass the torch to Coffey County officers at BETO Junction at about 2 p.m. The Special Olympics will begin June 5 in Wichita.
