OTTAWA — Country music fans might think that classical music is a disaster. Well, they’re right. Tiny Chase County is hosting the annual Symphony on the Prairie on Saturday in which more than 7,000 classical music fans will hear the Kansas City symphony perform at a ranch in the middle of the Flint Hills near Cedar Point. Franklin County emergency management director Alan Radcliffe said a Franklin County team and the county’s command trailer will go to the event to help handle the crowd. Radcliffe said to get the help, Chase County had to declare a state of disaster. Chase County has only two ambulances and one full-time crew, he said. The state has allowed small counties declare disasters to handle big events, he said.
