OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission agreed Wednesday to an owner’s request for a permit to demolish a dilapidated business building at 114 E. Second St. Because the state historic preservation office disagreed, the city had to have a public hearing. After the hearing, commissioners said there was no other alternative to demolishing the building.
