OTTAWA — Kansas City Power and Light and Franklin County emergency management director Alan Radcliffe said power has been restored to almost every customer in the county. The utility lost 200 poles and several thousands of feet of wire, Tom Robinson, KCP&L spokesman, said. Several transformers were damaged by lightning, he said. Robinson said every KCP&L customer should have power this afternoon. Radcliffe said that the Red Cross closed its cooling station at the Richmond United Methodist Church but the church decided to stay available for anyone still without power.
