Baker University announced seven more layoffs in the month of June. This brings the total of 30 employees laid off this year as a result of a $1 milion budget shortfall. Seven non-faculty members were notified the first week of this month and early the following week. Baker President Pat Long annonced in February the layoffs of 23 people, and that would be the last of the mass layoffs. The additional layoffs resulted from the universities ongoing reconstruction at its four campuses. Baker employs 430 people, and has no more layoffs planned in the future.
