OTTAWA — The Ottawa Fire Department doesn’t rescue cats in trees. The Ottawa Fire Department does rescue dogs under houses. Firefighters were called to rescue a dog that was trapped under a house in the 800 block of South Pecan recently. Fire Jeff Carner said firefighters didn’t pause at all – a firefighter crawled under the house and dragged the dog out by the collar without incident.
