OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission has scheduled a public hearing on demolishing a dilapidated house at 523 S. Hickory. It’s the third time in two months the city has had a public hearing to demolish to building in the historic district. The state historic preservation office has refused to agree to the demolition, setting up the requirement for the public hearing to determine that’s there no feasible option to demolish the house, city manager Richard Nienstedt said. The hearing will be July 15.
