OTTAWA — An Ottawa man was transported by air ambulance to a Kansas City hospital after a two-vehicle accident on K-68 just before 8 p.m. Tuesday. Jack Christian, 89, was flown by Lifestar air ambulance after the pick-up he was driving was rear-ended by another vehicle. The pick-up ended upside down in the north ditch. Christian was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. His condition Wednesday morning is not known. His wife, who was a passenger in the pickup, and the driver of the other vehicle refused treatment at the scene. The westbound lane of K-68 was closed for just over two hours while crews worked the accident. The wreck occurred 1.6 miles west of the intersection of K-68 with I-35.
