OTTAWA — A motorist escaped without injury when a semi-trailer rolled over onto his car because of Wednesday’s powerful storm. Georgia trucker Floyd Billings said when he was forced to stop on I-35 on the U.S 59 overpass, heavy winds from the storm blew his truck and trailer over onto another truck. When the other truck moved, his truck fell over onto a car. Billings said his truck wasn’t loaded. He said if his trailer had been loaded, the results would be more catastrophic. The car was crushed but the Kansas Highway Patrol said there were no injuries. Another truck parked on I-35 was also blown over. The southbound lane of I-35 was closed for some of the evening and then traffic was detoured around the trucks and on the interchange ramps across U.S. 59.
