OTTAWA — A proposed 33 percent cut for the Franklin County Historical Society would severely reduce hours at the Old Depot Museum. Society treasurer Greg Gilroy said that with the proposed cut, the museum would have to eliminate most of its education programs and would have to reduce its hours to just on weekends. Several people packed the Franklin County Commission budget session Monday to testify against the 33 percent cut. Commissioners said cuts for next year are inevitable but said they’ll re-examine the steep cut for the historical society.
