TOPEKA — The Kansas Lottery Commission has extended the deadline for applications for a casino in southeast Kansas. The commission had a good reason – no one applied.
A casino can be put in either Crawford or Cherokee county and the deadline was this week but now has been moved back to Oct. 19. It’s the third time that the commission has had to roll the deadline back. The original applicant, Penn National Gaming, withdrew its proposal to build a hotel and casino complex in Cherokee County.
