OTTAWA — Several soybean fields have received severe damage from the microburst two weeks ago, said Franklin County Extension agent Darren Hibdon. The damage greatly varied with some soybean fields receiving from 25 percent damage up to 90 percent damage, he said. Although damaged soybeans will grow back, yields will likely be cut, he said. Most damage occurred from a line between Ottawa and the Anderson County that followed U.S. 59. Soybeans and corn are the most important crops for Franklin County farmers.
