OTTAWA — Road resurfacing work will begin on Monday, county public works director Jim Haag said. A contractor will start chip-and-seal work on most of the paved county roads in southwestern Franklin County, Haag said. In chip-and-seal work, the contractor will spray asphalt oil on the roads and then cover it with limestone gravel. Haag said if you drive on those roads that are being redone, you may encounter loose gravel, dust and road equipment. He asks that you obey traffic control signs and flaggers and try not to drive on the fresh oil.
