GARNETT — Anderson County’s Sheriff, 911 Dispatch and Emergency Management departments have been moving into the new county law enforcement center next to the courthouse in Garnett. Inmates won’t move into the jail for another two weeks, said Sheriff Scot Brownrigg. Jailers will be trained on operating it before inmates are brought in, he said. The jail was built large enough to allow the county to take in inmates from other counties, he said. Revenue from those other inmates will help the county pay for part of the new $5.5 million facility. The new center was open to public inspection this last weekend and Brownrigg said about a thousand people toured the facility.
