OTTAWA — State and local leaders joined hospital officials to mark a $9 million expansion and improvement project at Ransom Memorial Hospital this morning. Chief of the medical staff Ken Frank said the project will keep the hospital at the cutting edge and ensure high-quality heath care. The project will include a new expansion for a new surgery suite and birthing center and updating patient rooms. Hospital administrator Larry Felix said work on the expansion will begin Monday and will continue for about two years. Felix said that because the hospital has been saving money and picked the right time, the hospital won’t have any debt from the project. At the ceremony, the hospital auxiliary donated $100,000 to the project.
