OTTAWA — The Kansas Department of Transportation has a deal the county can’t refuse – although the commissioners might want to. County public works director Jim Haag told commissioners Monday that KDOT wants to change its agreement on how much it will reimburse the county for work to Montana Road north of Ottawa. Haag said he’s still negotiating an amount with KDOT. Under the agreement, the state will pay 75 percent of the engineering costs. The question is what will be covered by the 75 percent, he said. Commissioners will vote on the revised deal Wednesday.
