COLONY — For the second year in a row, Crest students will be introduced to a new superintendent when they start school this week. Shawnee Heights assistant superintendent Lee Jones is Crest’s newest superintendent. He succeeds last year’s superintendent Duane Thomas who moved to a coaching position in northern Arkansas. Jones had been the Prairie View middle school principal for nine years. He had been assistant superintendent at Shawnee Heights for a year when the Shawnee Heights school board cut his position because of reductions in state school funding.
