OTTAWA — A Hollywood star will fly into Ottawa. The 1929 Ford Tri-Motor that appeared in the Johnny Depp movie “Public Enemy” will be at the Ottawa Municipal Airport Sept. 1-2. The visit is sponsored by the Wellsville-based Ad Astra Aviators Experimental Aircraft Association chapter. Depp was filmed in the Tri-Motor as it taxied but the film insurance company refused to allow Depp to fly in it, said Ad Astra president Chuck Finley. However, you’ll get a chance to see Depp’s seat and maybe even ride in it, Finley said. Tickets to ride in the Tri-Motor are $60, $50 through EAA members. Tickets may be bought at the Web site: www.airventuremuseum.org/fordtrimotor. The car-maker Ford built the airplanes in the late 1920s as airliners.
