OTTAWA — An Ottawa farmer was injured when a tractor ran over him Wednesday afternoon. David Barrett, 54, 1730 N. Davis Rd., was working on a Allis D-17 tractor when it kicked into gear and rolled over him, Franklin County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Curry said. Rescue officials said he walked back to his house after the accident and called 911. Barrett was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital and then taken by Lifestar helicopter to a Kansas City hospital. The extent of his injuries weren’t immediately known but curry said he was told that Barrett was recovering.
