PAOLA — The first of three public meetings about the future of K-68 will be tonight from 5 to 7 in the commission room at the Miami County Administration Building in Paola. The Kansas Department of Transportation, Miami and Franklin counties, and three area cities along the highway did a “corridor study” of K-68. he final draft of the study looks at potential growth and business development, environmental impact and changes in traffic along the highway in Miami County and eastern Franklin County. The meeting is come-and-go. You’ll be able to look at the study and talk to KDOT officials and engineering consultants about the plan and the highway. Other meetings will be next week in Ottawa and in two weeks in Louisburg.
