OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission honored four state championship baseball teams Wednesday night. The city issued proclamations in honor of the 10-year-old and 12-year-old Cal Ripken all-stars, the 14-year-old Babe Ruth all-stars and the AA American Legion team. Ottawa is a baseball town and the youngsters who were honored offer the promise that it will continue to be a baseball town, mayor Blake Jorgensen said. The city will add four more state championship signs to the nine already at Orlis Cox Sports Complex. He says he hopes to see more of those signs in the future.
