TOPEKA — The United Steelworkers union said it has struck a tentative master agreement with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and it’s being submitted to its 10,000 members for a vote. The union said that voting on the agreement, which includes workers at Goodyear’s Topeka plant, should be completed by the end of next week. The agreement must be approved by a majority of union members and by a majority of the seven Goodyear plants. The union said the agreement protects union jobs and workers’ health benefits. Under the agreement, Goodyear would have to spend at least $600 million to update and make improvements at the seven plants.
