OTTAWA — Friday is the first day of the 15th annual Power of the Past Antique Engine and Tractor Show (see picture below). Vendors and tractor owners set up in Forest Park Thursday for this weekend’s show. Vendor Gene Neigenfind, Wichita who sells tractor-related caps and memorabilia, said the Ottawa show is a very good show to attend. That’s echoed by Harold Hawkins, Auburn, who is bringing his tractors to the show for the third time. The show draws hundreds of tractors and several pieces of antique engines and farm equipment. The weekend events include old-time threshing, rock crushing, rope making and hay baling. The traditional Parade of Power will be at 1 this afternoon and Saturday and Sunday afternoon; and the annual free Friday night ham and bean supper begins at 4. However, you have to have an admission button to get to the free supper. Buttons are good for all three days and are only $3.
