GARNETT — The Garnett Area Chamber of Commerce has issued a warning to computer users who get their e-mail through Embarq. The chamber said that Embarq has issued a caution about an apparent scam. Those with Embarq e-mail services are getting e-mails that say they’re from Embarq and which ask for passwords and other personal information, the chamber said. Embarq said it never sends e-mails asking for password or personal information. The company saID if you have given personal information, you should immediately go to the Embarq web site and change your passwords.
