OSAWATOMIE — There will be plenty of sound and fury for this weekend’s Freedom Festival at the John Brown Memorial Park at Osawatomie. There will be several re-enactors portraying Abraham Lincoln, John Brown, Florella Adair, who was John Brown’s half-sister; and Civil War photographer Alexander Gardner, said John Brown State Historical Site director. A re-enactment of the battle of Osawatomie will be at 4 p.m. Saturday and a re-enactment of a battle between Confederate guerillas and Union troops at 1 p.m. Sunday. Events begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in Osawatomie.
