GARNETT — The Anderson County Hospital’s family health festival will be Oct. 6. Karen Wood said the health festival and healthy baby contest will include free health screenings and entertainment for children. The free heath screenings will include hearing, blood glucose, cholesterol, oxygen saturation, scoliosis, body fat and blood pressure, she said. The healthy baby contest is for babies from infant to two years old. A free 5X7 photograph will be given to each contestant after the event. The winner’s photo will be displayed at the Family Care Center. All contestants will be featured in the 2010 “Future of Anderson County” baby calendar that will be available in later this year. Other activities for children include a moonwalk, face painting, snacks and emergency vehicle tours. There will also be a check-up for teddy bears and dolls.
