OTTAWA — A 31-year-old Ottawa man was jailed before the weekend for suspicion of criminal use of weapons. Ryan Mendoza was arrested thursday in the 500 block of North Hickory. Police said he had a switch-blade knife. Because he has a previous felony conviction, he could face additional charges. 23-year-old Kristina Meuffel of Ottawa was also arrested at the same time because she was wanted by Shawnee County. Later, Mendoza reported someone he knew took items from his house.
