OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission will likely OK a proposal for a new travel center and truck stop at U.S. 59 and I-35. City manager Richard Nienstedt said the proposal will be on the agenda for the city’s meeting on Oct. 7. Love’s intends to build a center at the location. A second truck and travel center is being considered at I-35 and K-68. Nienstedt said he hopes both will begin construction by the end of the year.
