OTTAWA — A pair of former Ottawa University basketball players have been inducted into the Braves Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony for Jody Turney Corpe and Cavazos Cummings was Friday night as part of OU’s homecoming week. Corpe finished her career as the Lady Braves’ all-time leader in scoring, field goal attempts, and field goals made. She said her induction was a “huge, huge honor” and thanked then-OU coach Patty Phillips and said they’ve remained friends. Cummings finished his career as OU’s all-time leader in career points and field goals made. Cummings said his favorite memory was when the Braves defeated Mid-America Nazarene in the District 10 championship and OU advanced to the NAIA national tournament.
