OTTAWA — The Franklin County Commission will meet at 6:30 tonight at the county annex. Commissioners will look at bids for a new ambulance and decide whether to accept a federal grant to create a temporary position of county flu czar. They’ll also have a public hearing on whether to close part of the 4000 block of Ellis Road near Lane. Commissioners are expected to agree to buy land to expand Montana Road north of Ottawa and for a new bridge on Vermont Road near Rantoul. They’ll also consider whether they want to be part of a new federal Recovery Zone bond program for economic development.
