TOPEKA — A Lenexa wind-power company has received the Private Sector Renewable Energy Award from Gov. Mark Parkinson. Tradewind Energy built the state’s largest wind project in central Kansas and looking at building a wind farm in southern Anderson County. Parkinson said the central Kansas project has blown in strong economic benefits for the Salina area while increasing the use of renewable energy and reducing the use of carbon-based fuels.
