TOPEKA — Another Kansan has died of H1N1 swine flu. However, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment said this is the first time someone has died of swine flu who had no other medical problems. The 50-year-old woman who died was from Johnson County. Hers is the seventh confirmed swine flu death in the state. The KDHE said you should get a swine flu vaccination when vaccines become available later.
Franklin County health director Midge Ransom said public health officials are trying to delay a flood of swine flu cases until the vaccinations arrive later. That means plenty of hand-washing, she said.
