GARNETT — A sign in front of the Anderson County Health Department says no flu shots. The sign will probably remain up for the rest of the flu season. Anderson County Health Department nurse Terri Vaughn said because the flu vaccine manufacturer is producing H1N1 swine flu vaccine, production of vaccines for other flu strains has stopped. She told the Anderson County Review that the county has ordered more seasonal flu vaccine but it may be November or even December before any is available – if any is available. She says as swine flu vaccine is made available, those people designated as high priority, such as health care workers, pregnant women and young children, will receive it first.
