TOPEKA — The Kansas Lottery has finally received an application to open a casino in southeast Kansas. No one had submitted an application and the state had intended to extend the Monday’s deadline for the second time. The Wichita-based Ozark Trail Gaming Company seeks to build a casino near Galena in Cherokee County near at U.S. 166, one mile north of I-44. The Kansas Lottery has 90 days to review the application.
