OTTAWA — October is the Month of the Young Adolescent. The Ottawa City Commission issued the proclamation last week. Ottawa Middle School teacher Jason Circle said the proclamation recognizes what is an important period of physical, mental, emotional and moral development for youngsters. Nearly all of the Ottawa Middle School students take part in the after-school program, he said. The program is paid entirely by grants, he said.
