GARNETT — While little Halloween goblins are looking for treats to gobble, Mother Nature may have a halloween trick – snow. State climatologist Mary Knapp told the Anderson County Review it’s not unusual for the first snow of the season to fall for Halloween. She said this could be one of those years because it’s been an unusually wet and chilly October in Anderson County. Rain is predicted later in the week and if temperatures fall as expected, she said there could be white mixed with the black and orange of Halloween. Because the ground is still warm, Knapp says if there’s snow, it won’t hang around as long as Halloween candy. Knapp said she expects a very snowy winter.
