GARNETT — Because of a new state law, several Anderson County drivers are finding their efforts to keep their personalized vanity plates to be in vain. Anderson County Treasurer Dena McDaniel told the Anderson County Review the new law which will end the current practice in which each one of the 105 counties could have three of the same personalized vanity plates, one each on a car, light truck and motorcycle. Currently, there could be 315 of the same vanity plates in Kansas. She said the new law will limit each county to one vanity plate to one vehicle, meaning that there could only 105 of the same plate in the state. She said that means about 32,000 motorists in Kansas will have to change their plates or use regular state tags.
