OVERLAND PARK — 17-year-old West Franklin senior Evan Hamilton has undergone surgery at Overland Park Regional hospital and he is recovering from Wednesday night’s farm accident near Pomona. His mother Wanda Hamilton said so far, there appears that there is no severe damage and that feeling has returned to her son’s leg and doctors are observing him. She said she thanks God that her son wasn’t as severely hurt as he could have been. The accident occurred near Delaware and Pawnee roads, the sheriff’s department said. The Pomona Fire Department said a farmer had set a combine header on a trailer and when the trailer was moved, Hamilton was caught between the trailer and combine. He received a severe cut to the left leg between his knee and hip.
