OSAWATOMIE — Osawatomie school officials say a new program called Peaceful Playgrounds has cut injuries and conflicts on the playground. Officials told the Osawatomie Journal that recess-related incidents have dropped by two-thirds and not as many teachers are needed to supervise recesses. The program establishes a specific set of game and playground rules and a way for students to settle disagreements.
